Seeking The Latest Properties For Sale In Wednesbury?

19/06/2023

According to the latest house price index, the West Midlands is outperforming the rest of the market in the UK. Formerly the industrial heart of the country, it’s now one of the most exciting places to invest in a property and much more affordable than the South East.

Like many places in the West Midlands, the town of Wednesbury is constantly evolving. Only recently, a popular pub reopened following a £232,000 make-over, and redevelopment work has started at an industrial estate in the area. Nonetheless, there’s still plenty of affordable properties for sale in this town.

A short history of the town.

Wednesbury was originally known for its nail making, factories and coal mines. Once the railway lines were introduced, it became much more important in regards to local industries.

Part of the borough of Sandwell, it is one of the few places in England to be named after the Saxon god Woden. It’s believed the town’s name might derive from a temple on the hill where St Bartholomew's Church now stands.
